Application Procedure
a. The Course Counsellor is supposed to conduct pre-course counselling during the application stage. This is to ensure that
potential students are well informed of any course and College information prior to decision making.
b. The relevant information that needs to be provided during the Pre-Course Counselling is through the Pre-Course
Counselling Acknowledgement Form.
c. The Course Counsellor would also need to make sure to cover the additional information needed for all student pass
holders. They would include: -
• Students Pass application requirements and procedures;
• Informing these students that they are not permitted to engage in any form of employment or attend an industrial
attachment/internship programme, whether paid or unpaid, without a valid work pass issued by Ministry of Manpower; and
• Other relevant Singapore laws.
d. The Course Counsellor will conduct information sessions with potential students to identify their needs. Suitable courses
will then be recommended based on the applicants’ needs.
e. The completion of Pre-Course Counselling shall then be indicated on the Pre-Course Counselling Acknowledgement Form.
f. Student or Parent/Guardian (if student is below 18 years old) should fill in and sign the Pre-Course Counselling Acknowledgement
Form to indicate that they fully understand the above information.
g. In addition, monitoring mechanisms for ensuring good quality service standards with regard to the conduct of pre-course
counselling would include both pro-active (i.e., Pre-Course Counselling Survey) and reactive (Feedback Form) measures.
