Preparatory course for International English Language Testing System
Objective
This course is aimed at preparing students to sit for the IELTS test. The preparatory course will enable students to train their four language skills namely, listening, reading, writing and speaking. This course consists of 20 units which covers each of these skills in details, provides students with the knowledge on the structure of the test questions and the best approach in answering these questions. There will be practice papers after every three units.
Course Outline:
There are 5 modules in total:
– Listening；
– Reading;
– Writing;
– Speaking;
– Basic English: Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension and Creative Writing.
Course Duration (Full-time)
This course consists of 5 modules; and all modules will be completed within 12 months.
Full time: There will be 5 days x 3 hours each week
Schedule of the classes will be planned to suit the course’s needs.
There will be no classes conducted during public holidays and school holidays.

Minimum Entry Requirement:
– Applicants must be at least 16 years or above and fulfil the following requirements
* Obtain at least C6 in any 3 GCE O Level subjects or at least 9 years of formal education (particularly China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, local and other), or equivalent or pass the placement test of Nanyang Asia College.
* English Language with IELTS 5.5 （If you want to improve your score further）; or at least a C6 in GCE O Level English; or passed the language proficiency test of Nanyang Asia College or equivalent.
Assessment Examination:
There will not be any final examination or exit test for this preparatory course. Upon successful completion of this preparatory course, students should feel confident to register and take the IELTS test at one of the accredited examination centres. Our IELTS students will be guided and advised on IELTS test and application processes.
Course Completion & Certification:
– Upon completion of the course, students who fulfilled the stipulated attendance and passed the assessments will be awarded with a certificate of attendance by Nanyang Asia College.
– Attendance must not less than 90% and not absent without valid reason for more than 7 consecutive days.

Miscellaneous Fees refer to any non-compulsory fees which the students pay only when applicable. Such fees are normally collected by the PEI when the need arises
