Advanced Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Management (E-Learning)

Objectives:

The hospitality and tourism industries are continuously facing varied and dynamic challenges and opportunities. 

The Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management integrates modern skills and knowledge in hospitality and tourism to efficiently manage a hospitality business and a tourism business environment.The Advanced Diploma course is developed by Nanyang Asia College, which includes with the learning objectives or Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs) in the respective modules, which explains the range of skills and business models based on traditional and contemporary theories and knowledge, skills and techniques of hospitality and tourism management related skills. It utilizes relevant study materials in our class discussion to improve student’s learning ability such as problem analysis and problem solving. After the completion of this course, students should be able to understand the basic theory, skills and technique of hospitality and tourism management.

The course would help students develop managerial skills in confronting economic uncertainties, correlating rising costs of managing a hospitality and tourism business and technological advancement, as well as preserving values in a highly competitive environment. This Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management course is suitable for those who aspire to develop a successful hospitality and tourism business venture in the arena of hospitality and tourism development. It is also appropriate for industry personnel who wish to reinforce their knowledge and attain a professional qualification as a booster for their career advancement.

Course Outline:

There are 7 modules in total:

Module 3: Expositions, Events & Conventions Management
Module 4: Current Trends in Food & Beverage Industry
Module 5: Marketing for Hotel & Tourism Industry
Module 6: The Tourism Industry & Products
Module 7: Industry Attachment / Project

Course duration:

This course consists of 7 modules. All modules will be completed within 12 months.

Part time: There will be 3 days x 3.5 hours each week                                                    

Full time: There will be 5 days x 3 hours each week

Schedule of the classes will be planned to suit the course’s needs.

There will be no classes conducted during public holidays and school holidays.

Minimum Entry Requirement:

Minimum Age (Optional) : 17

Academic Level (Optional)  : GCE “A level” or have completed senior high school or equivalent either locally or oversea or mature candidate with 3 years of working experience or completed an equivalent Diploma.

Language Proficiency  : Minimum 2 GCE A level passes (at least C6 in English and any other subject) or pass NYAC’s proficiency test.

Work Experience (if applicable)  : 3 years of working experience

Internal Assessments (Optional)  : Written Exams and Assignment / Projects

Assessment Methods and Weightages:

  • MCQ & Written Examination: A three-hour examination comprising 50% of the marks for the module.
  • Assignment: Report or Presentation comprising 40% of the marks for the module.
  • Attendance and Participation: 10%.

Course Completion & Certification:

Upon completion of the 8 modules, those who fulfilled the required attendance and pass all the assessments will be awarded a Advanced Diploma in Hospitality & tourism Management (E-Learning) certificate by Nanyang Asia College.

Attendance must not less than 75%(part-time)90%(full-time) and not absent without valid reason for more than 7 consecutive days.

ICA Processing Fee, Student’s Pass Insurance Fee and Multiple-Entry Visa Fee 105-135 (Upon fee is required by ICA)

Miscellaneous Fees refer to any non-compulsory fees which the students pay only when applicable. Such fees are normally collected by the PEI when the need arises
