Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management

Course Overview:

Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management course will develop the students with PM Knowledge and skills to undertake complex projects and deliver within the constraints. Today’s dynamic industry demands highly-skilled project executives to use the PM tools and other key practice such as project strategy, leadership, risk management, Information technology, decision making and critical analysis.  As such our courses primary focuses and equips our learners to handle projects more effectively to steer professional and organisation development. This course fit for those want to take up career on Project Executive, Project co-ordinator, Programme Manager or Project Lead. 

Objectives:

a. Develop the project strategies and assessment to complete within the predetermined time, cost and quality

b. Manage the project risks by applying the effective PM tools such as   programming, scheduling, planning, PM   IT   tools   and monitoring

c. Adapt to any kind of changes in the project due to environment, resources, statutory regulations, people, and politics

d. Prepare the financial forecast during the project outset and familiar with the cash flow, cost estimation, Net Present Value Balance sheet, claims and P&L statement

e. Able to understand and interpret the project contracts in order to execute the project,also the suitable procurement method for win-win solutions.

f. Learn the organisation behaviour and culture to manage the people and develop qualities to lead the people by motivational theories.

Course duration

This course consists of 7 modules. All modules will be completed within 12 months.

Part time: 2 days x 3.5 hours each week (weekday) / 1 day x 7 hours each week (weekend)                                                     

Full time: 5 days x 3 hours each week.

Schedule of the classes will be planned to suit the course’s needs.

There will be no classes conducted during public holidays and school holidays.

Admission Criteria / Minimum Entry Requirement:

Minimum 20 years old (at the time of application)

Academic Requirement
  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognised University; or
  • NYAC Specialist Diploma; or
  • Advanced Diploma or Higher Diploma in Engineering, IT, Business, Finance and Accounting related, from a recognised institution with minimum of 3 years of working experience; or
  • Other qualifications or professional qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis
Language Requirement

Applicants whose academic qualifications are not attained in English medium are required to demonstrate proficiency in the following:

  • Minimum pass in GCE “A” Level English or “12th Standard” English; or
  • IELTS 6.0, or
  • Minimum score of 95 in Duolingo English Test, or
  • Other equivalent English qualifications
Mature Candidates

Applicants must be at least 30 years of age with 8 years of working experience.

Assessment Methods and Weightages:

  • MCQ & Written Examination: A three-hour examination comprising 50% of the marks for the module.
  • Assignment: Report or Presentation comprising 40% of the marks for the module.
  • Attendance and Participation: 10%.
