Diploma in Applied Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

Objectives:

The programme aims to:
• Develop foundational and applied knowledge in artificial intelligence and data science
• Equip learners with practical skills in data analysis, visualisation, and AI tool utilisation
• Enhance the ability to design and implement AI-driven solutions for business productivity and
decision-making
• Promote ethical awareness, including data privacy, bias mitigation, and compliance with the
Copyright Act 2021
• Strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving skills in AI-enabled environments
• Prepare learners to adapt to evolving technological trends and foster continuous professional
development

Course Outline:

There are 8 modules in total:

– Foundations of AI and the Modern Workplace;

– Copyright Law for AI and Data Science;

– Data Literacy and Personal Data Management;

– Practical Data Science & Visualization;

– AI for Productivity and Workflow Automation;

– Ethical AI, Bias, and Security;

– Multimedia AI – Images, Video, and Presentation;

– Future Proofing – Human AI Collaboration.

Course duration:

This course consists of 8 modules. All modules will be completed within 8 months.                                               

Full time: There will be 5 days x 3 hours each week

Schedule of the classes will be planned to suit the course’s needs.

There will be no classes conducted during public holidays and school holidays.

Minimum Entry Requirement:

Age: 17 years old

Language

Students must meet ONE of the following criteria:

1. Completed English language at secondary 4 educational level with Grade C6 or better in English GCE
O Level; or Singapore-Cambridge GCE O Level or IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent); or

2. Completed 10 years of education with a pass in Secondary 4 Level or Grade 10 English; or.

3. Internal English Assessment: A score of 50% or higher on the Nanyang Asia College English Placement
Test; or

4. Score at least 60 in the English section of the National College Entrance Examination; or

5. Attain a minimum score of 350 in the College English Test Band 4 (CET-4).

Academic:

Generally, applicants must have completed one of the following (or an equivalent qualification):

Applicants must provide proof of completion of secondary education. The following are recognized
equivalents to the Singapore Secondary 4 requirement:

1. A pass in the Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level examination with at least ANY three (3) passes at
C grade:

2. Secondary 4 qualification with a pass at C grade, or an equivalent secondary-level qualification with
a pass at C grade from other recognised high school education systems

Assessment Methods and Weightages:

  • MCQ & Written Examination: A three-hour examination comprising 50% of the marks for the module.
  • Assignment: Report or Presentation comprising 40% of the marks for the module.
  • Attendance and Participation: 10%.

Course Completion & Certification:

Upon completion of the 8 modules, those who fulfilled the required attendance and pass all the assessments will be awarded a Diploma in Business Management certificate by Nanyang Asia College.

Attendance must not less than 75%(part-time) or 90%(full-time) and not absent without valid reason for more than 7 consecutive days.

ICA Processing Fee, Student’s Pass Insurance Fee and Multiple-Entry Visa Fee 105-135 (Upon fee is required by ICA)

Miscellaneous Fees refer to any non-compulsory fees which the students pay only when applicable. Such fees are normally collected by the PEI when the need arises

  • NYAC does not accept payment in foreign currency.
