Diploma in Applied Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (Mandarin)
Objectives:
The programme aims to:
• Develop foundational and applied knowledge in artificial intelligence and data science
• Equip learners with practical skills in data analysis, visualisation, and AI tool utilisation
• Enhance the ability to design and implement AI-driven solutions for business productivity and
decision-making
• Promote ethical awareness, including data privacy, bias mitigation, and compliance with the
Copyright Act 2021
• Strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving skills in AI-enabled environments
• Prepare learners to adapt to evolving technological trends and foster continuous professional
development
Course Outline:
There are 8 modules in total:
– Foundations of AI and the Modern Workplace；
– Copyright Law for AI and Data Science；
– Data Literacy and Personal Data Management；
– Practical Data Science & Visualization；
– AI for Productivity and Workflow Automation；
– Ethical AI, Bias, and Security；
– Multimedia AI – Images, Video, and Presentation；
– Future Proofing – Human AI Collaboration.
Course duration：
This course consists of 8 modules. All modules will be completed within 8 months.
Full time: There will be 5 days x 3 hours each week
Schedule of the classes will be planned to suit the course’s needs.
There will be no classes conducted during public holidays and school holidays.

Minimum Entry Requirement:
Age: 17 years old
Language:
Students must meet ONE of the following criteria:
1. Completed Chinese language at secondary 4 educational level with Grade C6 or better in Chinese GCE O Level; or
2. Completed 9 years of education with a pass in Secondary 3 level; (Note: In China, the formal education structure comprises six years of primary education (Primary 1–6) followed by three years of secondary education (Secondary 1–3), totalling nine years of compulsory schooling but need to top up with one (1) year at senior high school or equivalent to pre-university one or junior college year one
3. Pass The Academic Test for the Junior High School students in China: Minimum score of 90/150 in the Chinese section of Chu Zhong (初中学业水平考试) – 通过中国初中生学业考试：初中水平考试汉语部分最低成绩为90/150; 但需要补修一年高中或同等水平的大学预科课程。
Academic:
Generally Completed the followings: (OR Equivalency)
Applicants must provide proof of completion of secondary education. The following are recognized equivalents to the Singapore Secondary 4 requirement, or a pass in the Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level examination.
1. GCE O-Level: A pass (Grade 6) in at least 3 subjects; or
2. ITE Qualification: Higher Nitec (GPA 2.0+) or Nitec (GPA 3.5+); or
3. Equivalent international secondary/high school qualification (e.g., Senior / or High School graduation).
Mature Candidate Route:
4. Applicants aged 30 and above with a minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience in a professional or technical capacity.
Assessment Methods and Weightages:
- MCQ & Written Examination: A three-hour examination comprising 50% of the marks for the module.
- Assignment: Report or Presentation comprising 40% of the marks for the module.
- Attendance and Participation: 10%.
Course Completion & Certification:
Upon completion of the 8 modules, those who fulfilled the required attendance and pass all the assessments will be awarded a Diploma in Applied Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (Mandarin) certificate by Nanyang Asia College.
Attendance must not less than 75%（part-time) or 90%（full-time) and not absent without valid reason for more than 7 consecutive days.
